ISO 19973-4:2014: Pneumatic fluid power – Assessment of component reliability by testing – Part 4: Pressure regulators. ISO 19973-4:2014 provides test procedures for assessing the reliability of pneumatic pressure regulators by testing, using the general test conditions and calculation method from ISO 19973-1. ISO 19973-4 applies to manually adjustable and remote-piloted pressure regulators, both relieving and non-relieving, but does not apply to pressure regulators that have a permanent bleed. The standard also specifies test equipment and failure criteria (threshold levels) for tests to assess the reliability of pneumatic pressure regulators.

ISO 3320 helps manufacturers and users of cylinders by providing a globally-agreed series of these dimensions and area ratios from which to select.

ISO 11170:2013: Hydraulic fluid power – Sequence of tests for verifying performance characteristics of filter element. This International Standard defines a sequence of tests for verifying filter elements. It can be used to check their hydraulic, mechanical and separation characteristics.
     This International Standard is not intended to qualify a filter for a particular duty or replicate conditions of service. This can only be done by a specific test protocol developed for the purpose, including actual conditions of use (e.g. the operating fluid).
    The procedure in this International Standard is applicable to individual fluids or types of fluids that have similar chemistry.
Benefits:
ISO 11170 provides filter users with an industry-accepted test sequence for using a group of three (3) filters for more than one test to verify the product meets the manufacturer’s specification. This International Standard specifies dimensional and performance requirements for hydraulic screw-to-connect quick-action couplings designed to be used at pressure of 72 MPa (720 bar) in static conditions as an interface between a hydraulic power unit and a tool. Typical applications for these couplings are related to hydraulic jacks, rams, clamping devices, hand tools, and cylinders. This International Standard covers two types of such couplings: the "P" type, which has a poppet valve, and the "S" type, which has a spherical valve.

This Technical Report specifies the dimensions and provides other data relating to cavities with ISO 725 UN and UNF threads in which two-, three- and four-port screw-in cartridge valves are mounted in order to ensure dimensional interchangeability. It is applicable to two-, three- and four-port screw-in cartridge valves generally used in industrial, agricultural, mining and mobile equipment.

ISO 6358-1:2013: Pneumatic fluid power — Determination of flow-rate characteristics of components using compressible fluids — Part 1: General rules and test methods for steady-state flow. This part of ISO 6358 specifies a steady-state method for testing pneumatic fluid power components that use compressible fluids, i.e. gases, and that have internal flow paths that can be either fixed or variable in size, to determine their flow-rate characteristics. However, this part of ISO 6358 does not apply to components whose flow coefficient is unstable during use, i.e. components that exhibit remarkable hysteretic behavior (because they can contain flexible parts that deform under the flow) or that have an internal feedback phenomenon (such as regulators). In addition, it does not apply to components that exchange energy with the fluid during flow-rate measurement, e.g. cylinders, accumulators, etc.
      This part of ISO 6358 specifies requirements for the test installation, the test procedure, and the presentation of results for the steady-state method. It includes several test procedures, including the one described in Annex A, which is from ISO 6358:1989.
Benefits:
ISO 6358-1 will help 1) a manufacturer determine characteristics for publication in a catalog, and 2) a system designer understand what the characteristics mean in order to compare pneumatic valves from various suppliers. The standard provides information superior to the traditional CV values.

ISO 1179-2:2013: Connections for general use and fluid power — Ports and stud ends with ISO 228 1 threads with elastomeric or metal-to-metal sealing — Part 2: Heavy duty (S series) and light duty (L series) stud ends with elastomeric sealing (type E) (second edition). This part of ISO 1179 specifies dimensions, performance requirements and test procedures for heavy-duty (S series) and light-duty (L series) stud ends with ISO 228-1 threads and the elastomeric sealing (type E) that is used with them.
      Heavy-duty (S series) stud ends with type E sealing in accordance with this part of ISO 1179 can be used at working pressures up to 63 MPa (630 bar). Light-duty (L series) stud ends with type E sealing in accordance with this part of ISO 1179 can be used at working pressures up to 25 MPa (250 bar). The permissible working pressure depends on size, materials, design, working conditions, applications, etc.

ISO 1179-1:2013: Connections for general use and fluid power — Ports and stud ends with ISO 228-1 threads with elastomeric or metal-to-metal sealing — Part 1: Threaded ports (second edition). This part of ISO 1179 specifies dimensions for ports with ISO 228-1 threads for use with non-adjustable stud ends described in ISO 1179-2, ISO 1179-3 and ISO 1179-4 and with adjustable stud ends described in ISO 1179-3.
Ports in accordance with this part of ISO 1179 are applicable for use with
- ISO 1179-2 heavy-duty (S series) stud ends with type E sealing at working pressures up to 63 MPa (630 bar) and light-duty (L series) stud ends at working pressures up to 25 MPa (250 bar),
- ISO 1179-3 light-duty (L series) stud ends with type G sealing at working pressures up to 31,5 MPa (315 bar) and ISO 1179-3 light-duty (L series) adjustable stud ends with type H sealing at working pressures up to 20 MPa (200 bar), and
- ISO 1179-4 stud ends with type B sealing at working pressures up to 40 MPa (400 bar) for the S series, up to 25 MPa (250 bar) for the L series, and up to 10 MPa (100 bar) for the LL series,
except for the G2 size port, which in hydraulic fluid power systems is used mainly with accumulators and for which ISO 1179-3 and ISO 1179-4 do not specify stud ends. The permissible working pressure depends upon size, materials, design, working conditions, application, etc.

ISO 6358-2:2013: Pneumatic fluid power – Determination of flow-rate characteristics of components – Part 2: Alternative test methods. This part of ISO 6358 specifies a discharge test and a charge test as alternative methods for testing pneumatic fluid power components that use compressible fluids, i.e. gases, and that have internal flow passages that can be either fixed or variable in size to determine their flow-rate characteristics. However, this part of ISO 6358 does not apply to components whose flow coefficient is unstable during use, i.e. components that exhibit remarkable hysteretic behavior (because they can contain flexible parts that deform under flow) or that have an internal feedback phenomenon (such as regulators) or components that have a cracking pressure such as non-return (check) valves and quick-exhaust valves. In addition, it does not apply to components that exchange energy with the fluid during flow-rate measurement, e.g. cylinders, accumulators, etc. The charge test cannot be performed on components that do not have downstream port connections.

ISO 6263:2013: Hydraulic fluid power – Compensated flow-control valves – Mounting surfaces. This International Standard specifies the dimensions and other data relating to surfaces on which hydraulic compensated flow-control valves are mounted in order to ensure interchangeability.
       It applies to mounting surfaces for hydraulic compensated flow-control valves which represent current practice; they are generally applicable to industrial equipment.

ISO/TS 17165-2:2013: Hydraulic fluid power – Hose assemblies – Part 2: Practices for hydraulic hose assemblies. This part of ISO 17165 provides guidelines for selection, routing, fabrication, installation, replacement, maintenance and storage of hose and hose assemblies for hydraulic fluid power systems, which are manufactured from hoses conforming to ISO 1436, ISO 3862, ISO 3949, ISO 4079 and ISO 11237, and hose fittings conforming to ISO 12151-1 to ISO 12151-6.
     NOTE 1 - Many of these practices also can be suitable for use with other types of hoses and systems.
     NOTE 2 - Annex A lists examples of actual failure resulting from improper use of hydraulic hose and hose
     assemblies.

ISO 6195:2013: Fluid power systems and components — Cylinder rod wiper ring housings in reciprocating applications — Dimensions and tolerances. This International Standard specifies dimensions and tolerances of housings for wiper rings used in reciprocating rod applications for fluid power cylinders. The range of rod diameters is from 4 mm to 360 mm. This International Standard is applicable to five housing designs, types A through E. These housing designs are intended for use with the wiper rings according to Figure 1. This International Standard does not otherwise specify the style, configurations, materials or performance ratings for the wiper ring.

The dimensions and sizes conform to ISO 4401 so as to ensure interchangeability of these valves and to reduce the number of fixing devices to be used.
      It applies to clamping dimensions of four-port modular stack valves and four-port directional control valves which represent current practice. They are generally applicable to industrial equipment.

This part of ISO 10770 describes methods for determining the performance characteristics of electrically modulated hydraulic three-port directional flow control valves.
     This type of electrohydraulic valve controls the direction and amount of hydraulic flow in a hydraulic system.

This part of ISO 6162 gives complete general and dimensional specifications for flange heads, split flange clamps (FCS and FCSM), one-piece flange clamps (FC and FCM), ports and mounting surfaces applicable to four-screw, split and one-piece flange clamp type tube connectors and hose fittings for use at pressures of 3,5 MPa (35 bar) to 35 MPa (350 bar). It also specifies the dimensions of the seals to be used, as well as the grooves that house the seals.

ISO 1219-2:2012: Fluid power systems and components - Graphical symbols and circuit diagrams - Part 2: Circuit diagrams. This part of ISO 1219 establishes the main rules for drawing hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams using graphical symbols drawn in accordance with ISO 1219-1. It also applies to circuit diagrams relating to systems relating to cooling systems, lubrication systems and systems of technical gases used in conjunction with fluid power applications. This part of ISO 1219 also includes examples of circuit diagrams.

ISO 6953-3:2012: Pneumatic fluid power — Compressed air pressure regulators and filter regulators — Part 3: Alternative test methods for measuring the flow rate characteristics of pressure regulators. This part of ISO 6953 specifies alternative test methods for determining the flow-rate characteristics of pneumatic fluid power components that can be applied when: - the pressure regulation dynamics of a component under test are rapid enough to be negligible, compared to the response of pressure changes during charge and discharge tests; - the pressure response does not show any overshoot or any oscillating behavior. This part of 6953 applies to the following components: - compressed air pressure regulators and filter-regulators according to ISO 6953-1; - electro-pneumatic pressure control valves according to ISO 10094; - other components such as relief valves. The standard does not cover pressure regulation characteristics, which are dealt with in ISO 6953-2.

ISO 16589 describes seals utilizing sealing elements manufactured from suitably formulated compounds, based on thermoplastic materials, such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). They are considered suitable for use under low pressure conditions. This part of ISO 16589 establishes the appropriate vocabulary, where the terms and definitions given in ISO 5598 apply.

ISO/TR 15640:2011: Hydraulic fluid power contamination control – General principles and guidelines for selection and application of hydraulic filters. This Technical Report is applicable to contamination control principles for hydraulic fluid power systems and includes guidelines for the selection and application of hydraulic filters. Although control of non-particulate contamination, e.g. air, water and chemicals, is important, and is briefly discussed, the primary focus of this Technical Report is the control of particulate contamination and the selection and application of filters for that function.

ISO 15524:2011: Pneumatic fluid power – Cylinders – Single-rod short-stroke cylinders, 1 000 kPa (10 bar) series, bores from 20 mm to 100 mm. This International Standard establishes a metric series of single-rod pneumatic short-stroke cylinders with bores from 20 mm to 100 mm (inclusive) for use of at maximum working pressure of 1 000 kPa [10 bar1)] with and without magnetic function. They are not equipped with adjustable cushioning, so their application is restricted to those systems where adjustable cushioning is not required.

ISO 4397:2011: Fluid power connectors and associated components - Nominal outside diameters of tubes and nominal hose sizes. This International Standard specifies information on the nominal outside diameters of rigid or semi-rigid tubing and nominal hose sizes to be used with hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power connectors and associated components: a) nominal outside diameters for rigid or semi-rigid tubes, irrespective of material composition, used in fluid power; and  b) a list of nominal sizes for hoses made of rubber or plastic used in fluid power.
