Workforce Engagement Group MeetingMay 1 MI Workforce Engagement Group Meeting (WEG)
Join us for an upcoming in-person WEG in the Michigan Hub. This meeting will take place on May 1st from 8:30-9:30AM Eastern Time. 
 
This is an opportunity for you to learn more about Macomb's Fluid Power Certificate, provide advisement on a middle and high school fluid power summer camp, and learn more about ways to get involved in the MI Fast Track Hub. Breakfast will be provided. Following the meeting, there is an opportunity to visit the Fluid Power Action Challenge to see NFPA workforce development initiatives in action, and tour Macomb's recently updated Skilled Trades & Advanced Technology Center.

Join us for an upcoming virtual WEG in the Texas Hub. This meeting will take place on May 6th from 2-3PM Central Time. 
 
At this meeting, we will be joined by Dr. Christina Robinson, the Executive Director of Work Based Learning at Houston Community College (HCC). Dr. Robinson will explain how your company can host student apprentices through their Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program. She will also share state funding opportunities for your company to support student apprentices, and ways they support upskilling and reskilling your current workforce.

Help Milwaukee Public School students learn about fluid power via a 20-minute talk or 30-minute activity. Events are held at multiple MPS Twilight Centers. Topic ideas include:

  • Demonstrating Pascal’s Law
  • Exploring fluid power components and their roles in a system
  • Discussing real-world fluid power applications (e.g. pistons)
  • Speak about your fluid power career path
