The National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) is proud to welcome Tennessee State University (TSU) as the newest addition to our Power Partner Program. The designation was celebrated on March 26 with an on-campus event hosted by faculty partner Dr. Mohammad Habibi, bringing together TSU leadership, students, and industry representatives to recognize the university’s commitment to fluid power education. The event featured participation from all heads of engineering departments and drew more than 60 students, who engaged in meaningful discussions and attended a networking lunch with NFPA industry partners Flint Hydraulics and Hydraquip. Their presence gave students a firsthand look at the wide range of career opportunities within the fluid power industry.
NFPA’s Power Partner Program recognizes universities that actively participate in our full range of workforce development initiatives, including the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge, a hands-on engineering competition; the Fluid Power Club, which fosters student engagement and awareness on campus; and the Speakers Bureau, which connects students with industry professionals for mentorship and career insights. By participating in all of these programs, TSU has demonstrated its dedication to preparing students for careers in fluid power and strengthening the talent pipeline that drives our industry forward. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with TSU students and faculty.
